SMD HEAT Conducts Free Basketball Camps
In partnership with the La Plata Police Department, the Southern Maryland HEAT Athletic Program, Inc. will conduct free basketball camps for children in Charles County. The camps will run twice per month from June to August.
The camps are conducted by varsity level coaches with the assistance from varsity level players. The La Plata Police Department helped to ensure the court was clean, available and also provided cold drinks for the players and coaches.
Participants were able to learn basketball skills as well as learn about health and nutrition. We are looking forward to the remainder of the summer and conducting the camps annually!
